Journey to discover the truffle world in the charming Tuscan countryside.
Those who want to discover the splendors of the Tuscan countryside, between the Italian cities of Bologna and Florence, will be delighted by the amazing cultural and natural treasures of the area surrounding the Historic Monte Sole Natural Park. Accompanied by trained truffle-hunting dogs, you’ll explore the surrounding hills to search for truffles and learn about the history and cultural traditions of these prized tubers. With the guidance of our truffle hunting expert Franco and his specially trained dog Pluto, explore the La Spinada truffle reservoir and fully immerse yourself in the truffle hunting world. Learn about the truffle experts and their dogs while you gain firsthand experience searching for these precious “golden nuggets”. All of your meals, including the “breakfast of the truffle hunter,” will highlight the culinary versatility of truffles through several local recipes, in addition to typical local gastronomical products and wines. A few visits to nearby “agriturismo” will fully expose you to the wonderful, natural world of Italian organic farms. At the end you will have the chance to purchase the truffles you find at 50% of market price.

Day 2: The Hunting
1- “Breakfast of the truffle hunter”
2- Hunting truffle with Franco and his dog at the La Spinara truffle reservoir.
3- Truffle lunch at the nearby farmhouse Giuliana
4- Visit a nearby organic farmhouse, or go on a short drive to Bologna
5- Truffle dinner at nearby organic farmhouse Clara*
Day 3: Departure
1- Truffle breakfast and goodbyes
2- Transport to airport or other destination.
